NWS Warns Travelers, Public, of Lighting Strikes

The National Weather Service issued a special bulletin about the storm currently moving through the Levittown area a little after 12:20 a.m. Monday.

The special advisory includes warnings for motorists traveling I-95 from Central Jersey to Northeastern Maryland, because of the high winds, path of the storm and frequent lighting ground strikes.

According to NWS, the storm with gusts topping out right now at 40 mph and cloud to ground strikes is cause for great concern.

Flood watch warnings have been issued for nearby Philadelphia and Montgomery counties shortly after 12:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Small streams and creeks are expected to rise and forecasters are expecting some flooding in those areas due to the torrential rain fall.

As of 12:55 a.m. the storm is still moving through the area providing a light and sound show for the community.

The current advisory is in effect until 2 a.m.
