A Wawa employee testified last week that he was “scared” when a man holding a butcher knife walked into the store on Old Bristol Pike in Falls Township on the morning of July 2.
Authorities allege the man with the knife is Robert Nagy, 26, of Bristol Township.

The employee’s testimony lead to District Judge Jan Vislosky forwarding 12 charges including counts of robbery, simple assault and terroristic threats to Doylestown for trial last week.
There were some legal fireworks during the preliminary hearing for Nagy as defense attorney Nicholas Mancini and prosecutor Thomas Gannon went back and forth about sequestration and identification of Nagy. Mancini made comments the court failed to prevent the witness from seeing Nagy at the hearing, which he requested. Vislosky said her court had three written communications from Mancini and none requested the victim and Nagy be kept out of eyesight of each other.
Mancini said the Wawa clerk did not testify to any threats by Nagy.

“Clearly you bring a knife to plunge it into somebody’s body,” Gannon countered.
Nagy is alleged to have walked into Wawa around 3:30 a.m. on July 2 and pointed the butcher knife at the clerk while demanding money, court papers say.

Police said Nagy told a clerk to hurry up as they gathered the money from the register and even pointed the large knife at another employee before fleeing the store. Other staff members and one customer were reported to be in the store at the time.

Surveillance video from the store showed Nagy hung around the store about an hour-and-a-half before the robbery, court papers say.
Police said they arrested Nagy in Bensalem the day after the robbery.
Tips from LevittownNow.com readers and information gathered by Falls detectives lead to Nagy’s quick capture, police said.
