Flooding Reported Throughout Area Following Evening Storm


Flooding was reported throughout Lower Bucks County following a line of storms that moved through Monday evening.

Parts of Farragut Avenue in Bristol Borough were among the many reported streets encountering flooding as of 9 p.m. Water in the roadway was reported on Buckley Street, Cedar Street, Pond Street and Wilson Avenue around 9:15 p.m. One McKinley Street resident posted that their new car was underwater and firefighters were wading down the street.

LevittownNow.com readers said there was flooding on Cedar Avenue by the railroad bridge in the Croydon section of Bristol Township. Social media reports of flooding at the t the intersection of Beaverdam Road and Lakeland Avenue in the Venice Ashby section of the township came in a short time later.

A tree was reported to be down on Old Lincoln Highway near the Bensalem and Middletown border.

PECO reported that about 700 customers were without power in Bristol Borough and roughly 650 were in the dark in Bristol Township at 9:30 p.m.

Bristol Borough first responders were called to Burlington Island on the Delaware River around the time the rain for reports of several people stuck on the island. More information is expected to be released later.
