Vince Weaver stood outside his Gamewood Road home in Bristol Township. A large tree sat partially on the house where he grew up.
“My first reaction: holy sh-t!” Weaver said. He added that a neighbor’s tree missed is property and fell into the street during Sandy and a portion of nearby sidewalk was taken out by the hurricane and is still missing.

Thornridge, which was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy, had at least two large trees that fell onto homes. Caution tape surrounded a tree that fell and damaged a house on Tulip Lane in Falls. The street in was the scene of several fallen trees in October 2012 following the hurricane.

Despite the fallen trees and power lines, no serious injuries were reported by authorities.
The damage came as a quick-moving storm system blew through the area Tuesday evening. Residents reported strong winds that knocked out power and interrupted normal water service throughout the area.

Weaver said he was looking out his kitchen window when the wind started. He recalled seeing a branch fall and transformer blow up before he stepped away. Next, a portion of his roof caved in as the tree crashed down. The largest part of the tree missed the main structure of the house by centimeters.
As of 3:30 p.m., about 4,000 PECO customers in the Bristol, Levittown and Langhorne areas were in the dark. “Crews working 24/7 to restore service, as they work restoration times are adjusted based on current conditions or additional damage found,” the utility tweeted.
“This is really bad. I’m lucky it wasn’t worse,” Weaver said as he took photos of the damage.
