Penndel Borough now has an official Facebook page.

The borough of roughly 2,300 residents made their Facebook page – Facebook.com/PenndelBorough – live following a vote by the council Monday night.

Penndel’s new page joins the borough police department on Facebook. The police department also has a Twitter account.
The page will be moderated by council members Kali Sodano and Beverly Wolfe.
Councilwoman Arlene Harms raised several questions about the page at Monday night’s meeting. She asked about how the moderation would work and how Facebook worked. Harms asked for copies all of the page’s activity to be presented to council monthly.

Sodano told the council that anyone who caused problems on the page could be banned.
The police department’s social media pages were exempt because the chief has outlined a separate social media policy for police use.
