Charges were filed by authorities against ย a local teen who was found passed out on a Croydon street in April with the obnoxious odor of urine and alcohol rising from him.

Bristol Township police responded to a call by residents of a young man lying near the intersection of Maple and Spring Avenues on April 19, according to court documents.

The responding officer, court papers state, attempted to wake the young man up several times in an attempt to assess whether or not he was a victim of a car accident or had fallen off a skateboard that the officer noted nearby, according to court documents.

After several attempts to alertย the passed out ย teen, who was non-responsive, Officer Mark Titus searched a black backpack seeking the suspect’s identification, court papers noted.

During the search, Titus located a plastic sandwich bag with a “greenish brown” substance contained in it which appeared to be marijuana, Titus wrote in court paperwork.

Additionally Titus found a ‘grinder,’ which is used to ground up the leafy drug prior to use, and another zip lock bag containing ‘residue’ of the suspected drug, as well as information identifying the young man as Jake Andrewย Goodman, 18 of Croydon.

Goodmanย was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation since he was “so intoxicated” he required the assistance of emergency personnel to get in the ambulance, authorities said. Additionally prior to getting placed on a stretcher, the teenager vomited in the ambulance, police said.

The alleged illicit substances were sent to the crime lab for testing with a positive result for cannabis found on June 24, noting the substance weighed ย a little more 5 grams.

Titus filed charges against him shortly thereafter ย and he’s been notified by mail to appear in Bristol Borough District Court on August 13 to answer to charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana (personal use), possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary offenses for underage drinking and public drunkenness.
