A Levittown man employed by a local contractor took his company vehicle on an unpaid vacation of sorts and pawned a little more than $55,000 worth of ย tools, ย Bristol Borough police allege.
The male contractor reported to authorities on Friday morning that an employee had taken a company-owned vehicle several days ago and had not returned, police said.

The victim told authorities he tracked the vehicle to Bristol Commerce Park where he found the vehicle and the employee, Gregory Arnold, 37, in the parking lot, according to court documents.
Bristol Borough police responded to the call and upon arrival were told ย that the employee, without the business owner’s permission, had taken the vehicle that was filled with work related equipment days ago, authorities said.
The owner said he asked where was all of the equipment and was told by Arnold that he pawned the items at a local shop. He then handing over the receipts for the alleged stolen tools, police said.

Arnold, questioned by Patrolman Carlos Rivera, said those were all the receipts for the items sold and he didn’t get receipts for all of the items pawned, the officer wrote in court papers.
Rivera directed the alleged thief to step out of the vehicle and proceeded to pat down the man down observing wax paper traditionally used to pack heroin in plain view inside vehicle and in defendants pockets, court records show.

Arnold taken into custody by Rivera and was charged with felony theft and receiving plus a misdemeanor drug related offense. Arnold was sent to Bucks County jail by District Court Judge Frank W. Perenteau, Sr. on 10 percent of $ 30,000 and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on July 15.
