Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said the blaze was caused when occupants of the home accidentally turned on the wrong burner and pot of grease caught fire. He added the fire spread to the hood, combustibles on the counter and the ceiling.
Firefighters had to pull down a portion of the ceiling to extinguish the flames. The home remains habitable, Dippolito said.
The Falls Township, Fairless Hills, Levittown No. 1 and Tullytown fire companies responded to the fire.
