Police Chief Joseph Sciscio said the grant will help the borough’s officers increase enforcement along the Lincoln Highway and Bellevue Avenue corridors. The roads were picked because aggressive driving has been identified as a “major traffic safety issue.”

“The enforcement will compliment other statewide aggressive driving enforcement waves, also funded by federal funds through PennDOT, which are scheduled to begin July 7th and run through August 31st,” according to a statement from police.
The stepped up enforcement is currently in effect and will last until September 14.
