Bristol Township police found a Fairless Hills man wandering inside an empty structure in response to a possible burglary in progress call on Wednesday evening.
According to court paperwork, Bristol Township Officer Mary MacDougal Reiff responded to the call on the 700 block of Belardley Avenue. The owner of the property told the officer he believed there was someone in the residence who didn’t have permission to be on the premises, court records say.

According to police, the property owners said they saw a man open a second floor window, The back door to the residence was open and a bike the property owners did not purchase was in the kitchen area.
Officer Dave Wiser entered the empty home and found Matthew Counseller ,22, in the kitchen, according to court documents. The 22-year-old was taken into custody without incident. The owners of the property told police, according to court documents, the property had been previously entered before with the back door being damaged.
Counseller was read his Miranda rights and waived them, according to police. The Fairless Hills man admitted to entering the property through the back door and was never given permission by the owners of the residence to be in the structure, court documents say.

Counseller was charged with felony trespass and bail set at 10 percent of $500, according to online court documents. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 25 in front of District Court Judge Joanne Kline.
