Pennsylvania State Police say four people were hurt in a nasty wreck on I-95 in Middletown on Friday night.
According to state police, a 2001 Mercury Sable with its four-way flashers on was disabled and partly in the left lane of the highway and the median in the moments leading up to the crash.

A 2003 Ford E250 van driven by a 33-year-old Morrisville man hit the rear of the Sable at 11:21 p.m., state police said.
The Sable spun 45 degrees and ended up on its roof, authorities said. The van reportedly spun and ended up on its roof.
The 33-year-old Morrisville resident had a 24-year-old Morrisville woman in the passenger seat, both were taken to Aria Hospital’s Torresdale campus by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad with minor and moderate injuries, police said.

The two people in the Sable – a 26-year-old and 19-year-old, both of Trenton – were taken by the Yardley-Makefield Emergency Squad to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown. State police said their injuries were “major.”
Photographer Alex Lloyd Gross said the scene looked like a “bomb had gone off.”

The crash closed down all southbound lanes for a period of time following the crash, which happened near the Durham Road overpass.
