Elementary School Put on Lockdown for ‘Trespasser’

A former Harry S. Truman High School student asked to leave that building’s property took a shortcut and caused a neighboring elementary school to go into lockdown.

Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee confirmed to LevittownNow.com Clara S. Barton Elementary School, which is adjacent to the high school, was placed on lockdown for a few minutes around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. The student was spotted cutting through a field at Barton.

The students and staff followed procedure and police were notified of the former Truman student’s presence, Lee said.

It is unclear as of press time if police made contact with the former student, however, Lee said lockdown was purely precautionary.

Lee said the former Truman student was asked to leave the school by staff.
