Acting Bristol Township police Chief Lt. John Godzieba said the man officials believe set the fire which caused the chemical explosion has spoken with local and federal investigators. He said charges could come as a result of the investigation.

Fire responders were called to the Midwood Lane home around 1:25 a.m. and the man told them a propane tank had exploded by the fireplace in the house, Godzieba said, adding that no evidence of a propane tank could be found at the scene.

Caution tape was roped outside the house and a police car sat nearby around noon.
