LevittownNow.com Co-Editor and Publisher Jeff Bohen and Brian Pelloni, the attorney representing him, plan to file an appeal after Bohen was found guilty of disorderly conduct last week.

Bohen, 45, was cited by Patrolman Dean Johnson on January 13 after an incident on Bath Street in Bristol Borough. District Judge Frank Peranteau Sr. found Bohen guilty after a several-minute-long trial and imposed a $441 fine, according to court records.

The incident involved a verbal altercation between Bohen and part-time borough code inspector Kevin Brannigan. No physical contact was made between the two, according to authorities.
Brannigan testified he was inspecting a home in the 500 block of Bath Street, which was later condemned, when he encountered Bohen, a Bristol resident. Brannigan said the reporter did not move for him and he had to walk around him.
While inside the home with the tenant, Bohen was banging on the door and would not leave, Brannigan said. Police were then called to the address.

Johnson testified that Bohen left the scene without incident.
Bohen said Brannigan cursed at him and told the resident, “don’t talk to him, he’s no press.”

Bohen admitted he also cursed during the verbal altercation between the two men and said he left immediately after the resident asked him to. He also said he was invited to the apartment by the resident, whose landlord was shutting off her heat in the dead of winter.
Brannigan, who was hired by the borough in the past year, smirked and laughed at two points during Bohen’s testimony.
Pellon said the appeal will be filed with county officials.

A Bucks County housing inspector was a witness to the incident but failed to appear in court for the trial despite being asked by the police. Johnson said the inspector was dealing with medical issues.
