The creek was at five feet above flood stage Thursday morning. The water level is expected to decrease as the day goes on.

Middletown Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said fire crews were dispatched twice overnight for water rescues. One was in the area of Route 413 and Bridgetown Pike and the other was in the area of Main Street and Zimmerman Lane.

Traffic on Route 413 near St. Mary Medical Center was diverted for a period of time ending Thursday morning due to the swollen Neshaminy Creek.

“We are experiencing flooding in the usual spots throughout the township. Please use caution of you are out driving tonight,” read a tweet from Falls Township. Several roads in the community were closed due to high water.

McGuire said flooding was reported throughout Middletown and not just along creeks.

Big Oak Road was covered by at least 5 inches of fast-moving water Wednesday afternoon. Despite the high water, motorist in SUVs and sedans still maneuvered through it, some easier than others.
