St. Mary Medical Center Named Top Hospital


Middletown’s St. Mary Medical Center has been named on of the top hospitals in the nation.

St. Mary Medical Center  made the 100 Top Hospitals ranking by Truven Health Analytics.

“We are proud to have been recognized for such a prestigious award,” Greg Wozniak, president and CEO of the hospital, said.“ We strive to provide the highest quality of care to our patients every day, and this shows our commitment.”

Researchers with Truven Health looked at Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) data, and core measures and patient satisfaction data to get their ratings.

St. Mary Medical Center was also given a Everest Award for being one of 14 hospitals on the list of 100 showing the greatest improvement rate over the past five years.

“The majority of the 2014 award winners have produced year-to-year performance improvement, as well. This speaks to the consistent focus on excellence by the entire organization and the men and women who serve patients,” said Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president for performance improvement and the 100 Top Hospitals program at Truven Health Analytics.

The rank was announced recently in an edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
