You have to start to seriously consider if “we the people” have seriously done something to upset mother nature, as forecasters say ย 2-5 inches of rain is expected to pelt Lower Bucks County beginning Tuesday and lasting through Thursday.

After a winter where it seemed everyday there were warnings of ย  “more snow on the way,” the National Weather Service on Monday might as well have issued an “arc” alert for area residents as torrential downpours of rain are predicted for the middle of the week.

Forecasters for the service said in their Monday briefingย  heavy rains are expected to arrive Tuesday night, with the heaviest rains, approximately 1.5 to 3.5 inches – expected Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.

The area, NWS said, is predicted to get a total upward of 4 inches of rain over the approximately 72 hour period.

Moreover, late Monday, NWS also issued a flood watch in advance of expected three- day down pour .

“Current flood potential is based on the current rainfall forecast. If forecastedย rainfall amounts or placement changes, location and/or severity of the flooding willย also change,” forecasters warned.

The flood watch goes into effect Wednesday carrying over into Thursday morning.

The NWS says a slow moving weather system in the central part moving towards the eastern seaboard of the county and an associated system in the great lakes area will “produce the extended period of rainfall.”
