A truck driver was taken to a trauma center Sunday afternoon following a crash in Falls Township.

The man behind the wheel of the tractor-trailer cab lost control around 4:30 p.m. and ended up hitting road signs and slamming into a bridge support beam, Falls Township Fire Company Chief Mike McCellan said.

The crash happened on Old Bristol Pike at the Tyburn Road underpass.
The door of the cab had to cut off by firefighters and the man was taken to Capital Health’s Trenton trauma center, the chief told LevittownNow.com. As of press time, the extent of the driver’s injuries were unknown.
The truck suffered heavy damage to the front end and McCellan said firefighters had to initially check to see the extent of the driver’s entrapment.
