Middletown Wins Award for Financial Report

The annual financial report prepared last year by Middletown Township officials recently won an award.

The Government Finance Officers Association awarded its Certificate of Achievement to the township for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report, which covered the fiscal year ending December 31, 2012.

“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Finance Department staff and illustrates Middletown Township’s commitment to transparency,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Pat Mallon said in a statement.

This is the ninth year the finance department, lead by Dennis Penko, received the award. The honor was noted at a recent board meeting.

Completed annually by the Department of Finance, the CAFR provides an overview of the various funds and accounts of the Township so that residents and other stakeholders can have a clear understanding of the financial state of the Township.

The CAFR is available on the Township website by going to the Finance Department homepage and clicking on the “2012 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report” under the Comprehensive Financial Reports heading.
