Officials from Bucks County and Philadelphia donned hazmat gear Tuesday morning after they were called to a Bristol Township business for a “suspicious powder.”
The powder was determined to be baking soda and the two employees exposed to the white powder were fine, Acting Bristol Township Chief of Police John Godzieba told LevitownNow.com.

The powder was discovered inside the MetaSource building in the 1900 block of Frost Road around 9:30 a.m. Fire crews, medics and police were dispatched and then special teams from Bucks County and Philadelphia were summoned.
Godzieba said the two employees were exposed when the preaddressed envelope containing the powder, which was stored in a glass vial, tore open as they removed it from a mail sorter where it was lodged.

Aside from the vial, the letter contained a credit card application and was addressed to a bank.

The sender of the envelope was not immediately clear and police said they were sending the envelope to the FBI to be analyzed. The letter was postmarked from Texas.
“Clearly, they wanted to cause a problem,” Godzieba said.

By noon, the scene was clear and the horde of emergency vehicles at the MetaSource facility had lessened.
Workers milled about outside of the MetaSource building while authorities tested to identify what was in the envelope. “What a day!” one worker remarked as she headed back into the large warehouse.
MetaSource is an outsourcing operation that serves many large companies and employs about 100 people, according to the company website.
