The southbound U.S. Route 13 ramp to Haines Road is scheduled to close for 12 days starting Thursday, April 3, in Bristol Township, Bucks County, for drainage improvements, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today. The work is part of PennDOT’s $36.5 million project to rebuild and improve four miles of Route 13 (Bristol Pike).
During the ramp closure southbound Route 13 (Bristol Pike) motorists wanting to access Haines Road will follow Route 13 South to the Edgely Road off-ramp, then turn left onto northbound Route 13 (Bristol Pike) and follow it to Haines Road. This traffic pattern will be in place through April 15 to allow the contractor to install new drainage pipes and reconstruct the highway.
PennDOT is enhancing travel and safety along a 4.3-mile stretch of Route 13 (Bristol Pike) by rehabilitating the deteriorated pavement; rebuilding bridges; replacing drainage facilities that date back to the 1940s; building sidewalks for pedestrians; installing medians; removing jug handles; reducing travel speeds; and implementing traffic calming measures.
