The Bristol Township volunteer Fire Police Unit was honored Wednesday night for their work and dedication during the recent snow storms that blanketed the township.
The unit of 10 officers called “unsung” heroes by Bristol Township Acting Chief of Police John Godzieba. He added the group is a “tremendous asset” to the township.

Called during all hours of day and night they come out, do the job with a smile and help as much as they possibly can, as long they have “coffee and boxes of flares.” said Godzieba. The comment brought a round of laughter from those in attendance.
The citation reads…
“The Bristol Township Police Department recognizes members of the Bristol Township Fire Police for their dedicated service during the winter storm of February 13, 2014. The men and women who responded to assist, did so without hesitation and volunteered their time and energy to keep our roadways safe. For the days during and after the storm, they directed traffic, deployed generators to keep traffic signals operating and blocked hazardous roadways to prevent accidents. They did all of this during the harshest winter conditions. Their tireless efforts and their willingness to answer the call to duty make them an invaluable asset to our township. For this work, we commend them and present the following members with a Unit Citation this 26th day of March, 2014:”
