The girlfriend of Stephen Chamberlain, 27, of Croydon, told police he assaulted her by headbutting her, shoved her and threw an aerosol can at her, according to court papers. After shoving the woman, Chamberlain punched a hole through the wall and then broke a door frame when leaving, police said. He is also accused of causing about $500 of damage when he broke the storm door and frame.

Two officers were outside the Horseshoe Lane home with Chamberlain and wrote in court papers they attempted to arrest him but he pulled his hand away. One of the officers used their Taser to stop him when he tried to run back in the house, according to court papers.

The woman suffered bleeding and swelling from the headbutt and a cut and bruise where the can struck her, police said.

Chamberlain was arraigned before on-call District Judge Robert Wagner Jr. on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and harassment. County court documents say the 27-year-old has nonmonetary bail.
