The suspects behind the February 21 robbery of the Well Fargo Bank on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown are believed by investigators to have been behind a New Jersey bank robbery the previous month.
According to the FBI, the two suspects in the Middletown robbery are believed to have robbed a Wells Fargo branch on Washington Crossing-Pennington Road in Pennington, N.J. on January 22.

Both robberies were carried out in a similar manner – “one subject vaulting the counter and taking money while the other displayed a handgun in the public area of the bank,” according to a press release.
In the Middletown robbery, the two suspects entered the bank branch around 9:45 a.m. on February 21. One suspect ordered all customers and employees to the center of the lobby; the other jumped onto the counter and over the top of the glass partition, police said. One suspect filled a bag he was carrying with cash. One suspect was armed with a silver handgun and carried a red plastic gas can, but the FBI says they are not sure of the planned use of the gas can.
Both suspects are black males in their mid-20s to mid-30s. They were also both wearing masks and gloves. The two are between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-one, according to the FBI.

Well Fargo is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the subjects’ arrest and conviction; tipsters can remain anonymous.
