Three men were rescued by bystanders Saturday afternoon after they fell through the weak ice on Penn Warner Lake in Falls Township.
Falls Township Fire Company Chief Mike McClellan said a man ice fishing was first to fall through and then his two friends who hurried to help went in. Bystanders jumped into action and pulled the men from the water.

When firefighters arrived, the three men were inside cars with the heat on already stripped of their cold, wet clothes and wrapped in blankets, the chief told LevittownNow.com.
The ice broke and the men fell in about 30 feet from shore near the clubhouse area of the Penn Warner property.
McClellan said officials were also out in the area of Motorboat Cove warning a large group to get off the ice.

“It’s weak out there,” he said of the ice covering local waterways. Days of above-freezing temperatures have taken a toll of the strength of the ice.
