During a preliminary hearing last week, Christine Monacelli said she was “terrified” when Barry Moyer pointed a gun at her and carjacked her outside the Hamilton Park Apartments in Middletown Township just hours into the new year.
Now, Moyer, 32, of Trevose, will be heading to trial on the charges including kidnapping to facilitate a felony, two counts of robbery, a single count of possession of a prohibited firearm.

According to court paper’s and Monacelli’s testimony, Moyer walked up to Monacelli’s car as she tried to exit the Veteran’s Highway (Route 413) apartment complex after she dropped off two co-workers following their overnight shifts at a local diner. Monacelli said at Moyer’s preliminary hearing that everything happened very quickly.
After carjacking Monacelli at gunpoint, Moyer gave her directions and she followed them for roughly five minutes. The two ended up in the Snowball Gate section of Levittown. From there, Moyer took $200 cash, a cell phone and told the young woman to get out of her 2013 Toyota Camry. He then drove off in her car, police said.
Monacelli said banged on the doors of a few homes to try to get help and eventually walked nearly two miles to the Great American Diner at the intersection of Veterans and Lincoln highways. Police responded to the diner and the investigation began.

Philadelphia police recovered the Toyota two days after it was taken. The car reportedly has serious interior damage.
A Bucks County library card left behind in a car was tracked back to Moyer, police said.

Authorities say they then used a photo of Moyer and showed it to Monacelli, who confirmed he was the man behind the scary incident.
Monacelli testified she saw Moyer riding his bicycle outside the apartment complex before he carjacked her. Police later recovered he bicycle abandoned outside the apartment complex.
Moyer is currently in prison unable to post bail.
