An 18-year-old was charged Wednesday afternoon for allegedly raping an underage girl.

Joseph Mortimer of Penndel was charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years old, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Mortimer raped a 13-year-old girl after she invited him over to help her take down Christmas decorations with her family.
Police said Mortimer followed the girl in her room as she went to get her phone. He reportedly knocked her onto her bed. From there, he took her pants off and then his.

Mortimer attempted to have her perform oral sex on him but she resisted. Moments later, he began performing unwanted oral sex on the girl, according to police. Court papers say, that led to the suspect to having sex with the girl while holding her hands behind her back.
Mortimer, who met the girl through an acquaintance and told her he was 16, is accused of raping the girl while she was kicking “a little bit” and crying, police said in court papers.

After the rape was over, Mortimer told the girl’s sister he had sex with her and then left the house, according to court documents.
When interviewed by police, Mortimer, according to court papers, admitted to several of the allegations.
It was revealed in court Wednesday afternoon, Mortimer has been previously arrested for incident assault in Middletown and another incident in Penndel while he was a minor. He has previously been in juvenile detention and is taking part in programs from the state Youth Services Agency.

Mortimer was sent to county jail by District Judge Daniel Baranoski on 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
