
The Newtown Bypass will be renamed in honor of the fallen Newtown Borough police officer Brian Gregg, a Levittown native.
The dedication ceremony for the Brian S. Gregg Memorial Highway will take place in the Newtown Borough parking lot that is located at 23 North State Street on March 4 at 11 a.m.

Gregg was a well-liked officer in the borough and grew up in the Levittown area. He was killed in a shooting at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown eight years ago. At the time of his death, he was just about to hit one year on the small police force.
Robert Flor of Falls sits on death row for the murder of the officer, who was shot after Flor took the gun from a fellow Newtown officer and shot him, Gregg and a hospital employee. Flor was was originally transported to the hospital following his arrest for DUI and punching his girlfriend. A large manhunt ensued after and Flor was found hiding in a car on the hospital grounds. Flor was revealed to have had several run-ins with Falls and Middletown police.
Gregg is survived by his wife and son.
