At their most recent meeting, Tullytown Borough Council approved the hiring of two part-time patrol officers and the purchase of a new police vehicle.
The council approved the hiring of Matthew Sinkiewicz and David Engle as the town’s new officers. Police Chief Daniel Doyle said recently the two will fill current openings. Sinkiewicz and Engle just needed some final checks and certifications before hitting the streets. Sinkiewicz is returning to Tullytown after a stint working in Maryland.

The borough police force was also authorized by council to spend $20,000 to purchase a 2014 Ford Edge SUV. The vehicle was originally set to cost just over $27,000, but a trade-in of a current 2009 Ford Fusion car will cut that cost by $7,000.
