Pennsbury Education Foundation Awards Grants

The Pennsbury Education Foundation (PEF) recentlyย awarded a total of seven grants to four schools across the Pennsbury School District, totalingย $15,530. The PEF is a 501(c)(3) organization that relies on donations and supports the purposeย of improving teaching and learning in Pennsbury through innovative educational initiatives.ย Grants are awarded through an application process that occurs twice each year.

โ€œThe PEF Board is pleased to be able to support the valuable work that teachers do in theย classroom, and we look for effective ways that we can distribute funding to benefit students,โ€ย said Annette Young, PEF President. “We look forward to distributing additional grants this spring after we review the applications that will be submitted by April 10th.โ€

The following grant recipients were announced:

  • Principal Elizabeth Aldridge and teacher Pamela Soda – $1,000 to partially fund the creationย of a tile mosaic mural at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School
  • Principal Elizabeth Aldridge and teachers Deborah Cattani and Sandra Raybuck – $3,633 toย fund the purchase of iPads, covers, and protectors at Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School
  • Principal Fran Nitkin and teachers Cherie Lynne Kooker and Julie Samples – $3,114 to fundย the purchase of iPads, covers, and protectors at Oxford Valley Elementary School
  • Principals Lisa Becker and Shawn Neely and teacher Chris McCormick – $2,550 to partiallyย fund the purchase of three rowing machines at Pennsbury High School
  • Principals Lisa Becker and Shawn Neely and theater program director Mary Kay Everett –ย $1,000 to partially fund the purchase of a new rear stage curtain for Pennsbury High School
  • Principals Lisa Becker and Shawn Neely and teacher Abigail Cramer – $600 to fund theย purchase of a digital camera at Pennsbury High School
  • Principal Laurie Ruffing and teacher Mark Costanzo – $3,633 to fund the purchase of iPads,ย covers, and protectors at Walt Disney Elementary School.
