What a difference a few days makes.

Much of the Levittown area was back on the power grid Saturday evening, many back on after spending days without electric and heat. PECO reported only around 2,600 customers still without service in the area.

PECO officials have told LevittownNow.com they hope to have the customers who remain in the dark back online sometime Sunday.

A customer service center has been opened by PECO at the  Lower Makefield Township building at 1100 Edgewood Road. The center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Utility representatives will be able to help customers in the dark.

Several traffic signals in Falls appeared to still be powered by generators Friday night. Nearby, the all to familiar sound of home generators could be heard along a portion of New Falls Road in Levittown.

Crews from the central part of the nation and New England were spotted in Middletown and Falls townships Saturday afternoon. Several PECO crews were seen repairing power lines.

Fire units stood by just after midnight Saturday as power crews worked to restore power in the area of Langhorne Gardens Rehabilitation & Nursing in Langhorne Manor.

A lineman from New England said his crew was working more than 14 hours a day to help restore power to the area.

Since the storm hit Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, PECO has deployed thousands of crews throughout the hard-hit Philadelphia region.
