After serving Bristol Township in several different capacities for 30 years, Officer George Nevel is retiring
Nevel will be putting on his uniform for the last time Friday. The lifelong Croydon resident and 25-year patrol officer will be heading to a “warmer part of the country,” according to a press release.

Before becoming a member of one Bucks County’s largest police forces, Nevel served Bristol Township as a police dispatcher and then as the animal control officer.
“He’s dedicated over half his life to serving his community and he’ll definitely be missed. I’ve known him for over 30 years as a co-worker and he’s someone who was dedicated, compassionate and a good role model, always treating people with respect,” Acting Chief Lt. John Godzieba said.
Patrol Lt. Guy Sava said Nevel is a “true gentleman” and “a professional with a great disposition.”

“We wish George and his family all the best in his retirement,” Godzieba said.
