Neshaminy graduate and new Penn State head coach James Franklin took some time this week to visit his alma mater in Middletown.
Franklin visited Neshmainy High School Thursday after making a stop at Warminster’s Archbishop Wood High School, which is known to have an outstanding football program. The Patriot News in Harrisburg reports Franklin also stopped in at PIAA Class AAA St. Joseph’s Prep and PIAA Class AA runner-up Imhotep Charter.

Philadelphia Inquirer sports reporter Rick O’Brien captured a photo of Franklin posing with a Neshaminy Redskins helmet in the school.
Franklin, a former Langhorne resident, played on the Redskins in his high school years and was recently described as a “football nut” by his former Neshaminy coach, Philly.com said.
“He knows what makes our kids tick down here and he also knows what kind of football we play down here,” Neshaminy athletic director Tom Magdelinskas said to 247sports.com.

Franklin’s visit to the high school lasted less than 30 minutes, according to reports.
Previous to joining Penn State last week, Franklin was the head coach at Vanderbilt since 2011. He joins the Penn State program after former head coach Bill O’Brien left to take the Houston Texans coach job.
