The massive Parx Casino in Bensalem saw revenues of $384,566,136.76 in 2012 and $368,423,344.53 in 2013. The numbers equal a 4.2 percent drop year over year.

Taxes generated from slot machine gaming in 2013 came to $1,279,534,011. Locally, the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority awards millions in casino impact grants to local towns. According to state regulations, the Bensalem casino is required to give 1 percent of annual revenues to towns that are directly impacted by Parx. Last year, about 4 million was given to area communities.

Parx brought in the most money of the state’s 12 casino and Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem was second. State data shows Lady Luck Casino in Nemacolin brought in the least amount of gaming revenues in 2013.

The decline in gross revenues is the first in six years.

Officials from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board have noted that casino competition from all of bordering states has grown in recent years.
