A group of men congregating in the parking lot of the Middletown Trace Complex on Trenton Road caught the attention of police, from there everything for one man went up in smoke.
While on routine patrol of the apartment complex, police observed a group of men standing around the back of a parked vehicle, court records say. As the officer slowly approached, one man, Tosh Thompson, ducked down, and walked between two parked vehicles stooped down, police records say.

The 18-year-old Langhorne man, according to court documents, entered the passenger side of a silver Honda Civic which was occupied by a second man on the driver’s side. The Middletown officer noted that two other men standing near the car appeared to be intoxicated, as he approached the parked civic.
The friend and Thompson, with their hoods up over their heads did all they could to avoid eye contact with the Middletown officer, court papers say, as they explained they were at the complex visiting a friend who lived on the other side.
None of the other men with them resided at Trenton Road apartments either, police said.

The officer walked around to the drivers side of the silver car and noticed “two clumps” of what he suspected to be marijuana on the center console in plain view, police said.
Both men admitted the substance was in fact marijuana and Thompson admitted to smoking a blunt prior to the officer arriving on scene, police records say.

After the men were directed to leave the vehicle a search was initiated, according to the court records, with police finding more marijuana, scales, and a pipe.
Thompson was charged with felony possession, possession of drug paraphernalia disorderly conduct, poss of marijuana and related offenses. He posted 10 percent of $20,000 and is out on bail. Thompson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in front of District Court Judge Daniel Barnowski on January 8.
According to online court documents no charges have been filed against the man with the defendant at this time.
