Authorities are looking for the man who robbed the Monument Bank in Newtown Township Monday afternoon.
Newtown police responded to the bank after silent alarms were activated just before 2:10 p.m. Upon arrival, it was discovered the bank branch was robbed.

The suspect handed a teller a note saying he was armed with a gun and he was holding up the bank, police said. According to police, the suspect left through the front door with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described by police as a black male, 6-foot-2, in his 30s. He was reported to be wearing a dark green knit hat, red sweatshirt with a half zipper.
An older VW Beatle was reported by authorities to be the suspect’s getaway vehicle.

Police officers and K-9 units were called to search, and police across Lower Bucks County were alerted and told to be on the lookout. The FBI is assisting in the investigation.
