The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission confirmed at around 1:30 p.m. that all lanes on the turnpike have been reopened following Friday morning’s large wreck.

Images of the crash involving several tractor-trailers that closed the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem Friday morning showed the mangled wreckage of at least one of the trucks. Another large tractor-trailer sits jackknifed and facing the wrong way.
As of 9:30 a.m., the westbound lanes of the highway had reopened and 6abc.com reported the eastbound lanes, where the accident happened, will be closed until at least 11 a.m. Delays stretched from Bristol Township to Upper Southampton.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes by the Route 1 interchange. Fire crews were called for a rescue from one of the vehicles, but further information on that is unavailable.
At one point, all lanes of traffic were closed.

The trucks were jackknifed and allover the road which meant that all traffic was at a standstill. There was no way to get them through and emergency vehicles had a hard time getting to the scene. Multiple people were stuck in a backlog between the exit and the crash scene. until emergency crews could figure a way to get them to turn around and exit at 351.
A witness told LevittownNow.com the front end of one tractor-trailer was heavily damaged and the concrete barrier on the highway was smashed.
Fire crews from Middletown, Bensalem and Upper Southampton were called to the scene.
