Bristol & Truman High School Students Take Part in Green Club

Students from Bristol Borough and Bristol Township who took part in Bucks County Community College’s Green Club recently dedicated a interesting new project.

The aquaponics project, which is based upon a method of food production that uses fish and plants in a symbiotic, self-sustaining system, according to the community college, was constructed over the summer at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School in Bristol Borough.

The Bristol and Harry S. Truman high school students who took part in the Green Club met at the community college’s Bristol Township campus throughout the year to learn more about green jobs, meet local green energy employers, explore environmental science, and create green projects that benefit the community.

The Green Club is funded by a $15,000 grant from PECO and is administered by the Bucks County Community College Center for Workforce Development office.
