Leslie Neffle was found safe in an apartment complex shortly before 5 p.m.

“She attempted to request entry to an apartment when the resident recognized her and called 911,” Bensalem police said.

Firefighters and a New Jersey State Police helicopter assisted Bensalem police during the search.

Police in Bensalem are searching for a missing special needs woman.

Twenty nine-year-old Leslie Neffle went missing from outside her home in the 1200 block of Neshaminy Valley Drive between 8 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

Neffle suffers from a moderate mental disability, depression, anxiety, PTSD and is epileptic. Police report she is unable to navigate on her own. Neffle is on numerous medications and has not received her afternoon doses, police said.

The woman, who carries no ID or cell phone, was waiting for a transport bus and it was running late. The transportation company alerted Neffle’s family and they went outside to check on her, and she was gone, police said.

The 29-year-old is described by authorities as five-foot-seven, 135 pounds with brown hair in ponytail and brown eyes. Neffle was last spotted wearing a black fleece jacket, blue jeans and pink and white sneakers.

The area of Thunder Circle, Belmont Hills Elementary and the Neshaminy Creek are familiar to Neffle, police said.
