Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) released a statement Friday highlighting the significance of small businesses to communities and the nation.
“This Saturday is Small Business Saturday – a day to recognize the hard work of every day Americans who, every morning, open up shop with the same entrepreneurial spirit that makes our nation great,” he said.

“From the family farm, to the local hardware store and the diner down the road – small businesses are alive and well in Bucks and Montgomery counties, Fitzpatrick said, “and that’s something to be thankful for.”
Fitzpatrick said “sponsoring little league teams to getting neighbors back to work, our local businesses – and their employees – are the backbone of our communities. That’s something that’s clear to me every time I visit one of the thousands of businesses right here in our area.”
Fitzpatrick said small business owners need the roadblocks removed for small businesses in order for them to continue to grow and prosper and thus the national economy will grow as a result.

Small business’s are job creators and by easing the pathways for them will be able to buy, sell and hire so American’s can get back to work, Fitzpatrick said.
The congressman encouraged consumers to get out Saturday and shop local saying “by empowering our local small businesses we all can have a hand in moving our communities, and country, forward.”
