AAA Mid-Atlantic predicts the highways won’t be as crowded this Thanksgiving season.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says they expect the number of people traveling 50 miles or more to enjoy a warm turkey and stuffing is down 2.4 percent over last year. That compares to a 1.5 percent drop expected national wide travel. Roughly 43 million people will travel in America for the holiday.

“While the primary focus of Thanksgiving is to gather with loved ones and celebrate with each other, fiscal uncertainty in the minds of some consumers is causing a slight decline in the number of projected travelers this year,” Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic Jenny M. Robinson said last week.
The busiest travel days are historically Wednesday and Sunday.
