Television star Dr. Mehmet Oz said the first thing the injured woman trapped in her car after an accident Saturday afternoon in Lower Southampton said to him was, “Oh, Dr. Oz.”

Dr. Oz, who has area roots and is married to a Huntingdon Valley native, told LevittownNow.com that he jumped from his car after he saw a head-on crash at Street Road and Philmont Avenue. The crash left the woman trapped and a man in another car with injuries.

“I thought for sure there would be fatalities,” he said. “Luckily, there were not.”

The doctor and daytime television host said he pulled the woman from her car because it was steaming and oil was dripping. He said the car eventually rolled into a ravine.

Witnesses exclusively told LevittownNow.com on Saturday that Dr. Oz also helped convince the man in the crash that he needed medics to look at a bloody injury he sustained in the crash.
