Two seventh-grade Bristol Township School District students have been expelled for “substance abuse issues.”
The school board unanimously voted to expel two male Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School students, who were listed in the meeting agenda as John Doe and John Doe 1. John Doe could return as soon as the beginning of the forth marking period in April, and John Doe 1 could return in as soon as 45 days, the district outlined.

Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee said he could not discuss the students expulsion in much detail, however district paperwork noted the two were accused of violating Board Policy 227. The policy deals with “delivery of a controlled substance on school property.”
The incident that lead to the dismissal of the students happened on October.
John Doe and John Doe 1 and their guardians met with school administrators and a “committee of four board members.” Both students will have to commit to action plans set by the Student Assistance Program Team if they are to return to the middle school in the months ahead.

The two students only make up a small portion of Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School’s student population and Lee said expulsions for controlled substances are rare.
