2 House Fires Cause Damage Overnight in Bristol Twp.


Two house fires overnight caused damage in Bristol Township and kept local firefighters busy into the wee hours.

The first fire was reported at 11 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of Steele Avenue t a rental property that was “heavily damaged,” according to Bristol Township Fire Marshalย Kevin Dippolito.ย A resident heard a noise outside and discovered the flames,ย ย Dippolito said.ย One woman suffered a minor burn, the fire marshal told LevittoNow.com. He added that the fire was started in a pile of cigarette butts on the patio of the property.

At 12:45 a.m., a small electrical fire in the attic of home on Inland Road in Indian Creek caused the residents to be displaced from the property and stay with family, Dippolitio said.ย Smoke detectors sounded off warning the residents of the fire, officials said.ย Power to the residence had to be shut down so repairs could be completed and there were no injuries reported.
