Retired County EMA Director Laid to Rest

Former head of the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency, John D. Dougherty Jr., a Bristol resident, was laid to rest on Friday.

Dougherty’s memorial service was last Friday at St. Mark Church in Bristol. He was buried at St. Mark Cemetery.

The Bucks County Commissioners remembered the 67-year-old at their meeting last week. He served the county from 1992 until 2012.

A lifelong member of Bristol Fire Company 50, Dougherty passed away at his home on Lincoln Avenue in Bristol Borough on Saturday, November 2.

Bucks County Public Information Director Chris Edwards said recently that Dougherty was a great colleague and gentlemen.
