Incumbent Republican Gov. Tom Corbett and Levittown-native Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley brought their re-election campaign to Bucks County Friday evening.
The governor and lieutenant governor spoke to packed room of supporters at the Bucks County Republican party’s headquarters in the county seat of Doylestown. The room cheered may times as Corbett spoke. Above the 64-year-old governor, a sign read “Promises Made, Promises Kept.”

The governor, who already has eight Democratic opponents, said he will continue to work to grow the private sector and support education.
He promoted the state’s growing dominance in the energy field several times during his speech.
“Energy equal jobs. Lower taxes equal jobs,” Corbett said.

Corbett told also supporters not to believe everything they hear. He said that spending for education is higher than it ever has been in the state, which would contradict claims by his opponents.
Corbett formally announced his re-election bid Wednesday and has been traveling the state as part of his re-election tour. Corbett spend the day traveling region with his wife, Susan. Just several hours before arriving in Doylestown, the Corbetts were in Allentown.
