The fire damaged the cabinets, stove and ceiling of one unit, Dippolito said. He added that smoke impacted several other nearby units and the hallways.

Dippolito told LevittownNow.com the fire was caused by a pot left unattended on the stove when a resident left the apartment.

The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania said a family of four is being helped following the fire.
