Look for work crews and traffic restrictions Friday night on Route 1 and Maple Avenue (Route 213) in Middletown.
The work is all part of the nearly $16 million project to rebuilt the Route 1 bridge that goes over Maple Avenue.

The work schedule from PennDOT is:
• Intermittent traffic stoppages are scheduled on Route 213 between North Flowers Mill Road and South Flowers Mills Road from 9 p.m. Friday (Oct. 25) to 5 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 26) for overhead bridge construction;
• The northbound Route 1 ramp to Route 213 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday (Oct. 25) to 5 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 26) for ramp reconstruction. Traffic will be detoured over Business Route 1 North, Interstate 95 North, and Route 1 South; and
• The right lane will be closed on Route 1 between South Bellevue Avenue and I-95 Road from 9 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 25) to 5 a.m. Friday (Oct. 26) for overhead bridge construction.
The reconstruction project will realign the Route 1 ramps to Maple Avenue, resurface the roadway approaches and ramps, install glare screens on the median barrier and upgrade drainage systems.
During the project, the speed limit along the highway was been reduced in the work zone.

The work on the project should be done by October 2014.
A PennDOT spokesman said last month that the transportation agency has several other projects planned along Route 1 in the coming years.
