“I am looking forward to my duties,” Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley, a Levittown native, said in a video posted on his Facebook page. The video shows a healthy looking 44-year-old outside Harrisburg Hospital in the state’s capitol city.

Cawley was rushed to the hospital Monday afternoon after felling ill while on the floor of the state senate. He was released 23-hours-later on Tuesday afternoon.

The lieutenant governor’s chief of staff told PennLive.com Monday night his boss was awake and had no other serious symptoms at the hospital.

Philly.com reports:

It was determined that Cawley’s blood pressure was elevated, and he had an increased heart rate. Saylor said Cawley had been prescribed blood-pressure medication and would continue to be monitored.

The lieutenant governor is expected to have a quiet schedule over the next few days as he recovers.
