At about 9:30 a.m., the woman’s red Dodge Neon hit the pole at the corner of Pond and Mullberry streets, which is outside of the police station.

According to witnesses, the woman was driving through the intersection and nearly hit an elderly man crossing the street.

Borough police officers and Chief Arnold Porter were quickly on the scene and began helping the woman until medics arrived.
